Not as dry as we were hoping, but the car boots were still on - we even went to two car boots today. Still, not a huge haul, but pleasing nevertheless.
About two stalls into the first row we found a pile of Saturn games and a model 2 Saturn - all for £15. I kept the games which I don't have, and sold the system and other games to Moobert. I also kept the "skeleton" controller and the third party pad, as well as two generic DE9-type joysticks (not sure why they came with the Saturn, but I won't complain). :)
Then, at the end of that row, was someone selling piles of various gaming stuff - quite cheaply, too. Dr Mario for the Famicom was £1, with the Pokemon thing, the two NES games (one in a cool blue case) and Super Hang-On for 50p each.
Then we moved on to another car boot sale, which was supposed to be huge. It's quite a drive away, but we made the trek. It turned out to be pretty small - much smaller than our usual one. Still, I picked up the two Sinclair joysticks, a bunch of weird other things (including an Amiga mouse, Amiga RF modulator and two Spectrum/CPC things) and the box of tapes for a fiver. The old guy selling them said he'd be back next week with the actual computers - we're so returning next week! :)
It also appears that we might have some competition at our usual car boot. We're pretty sure that we're the only people there buying this sort of stuff, 'cause even when we turn up a few hours after it has started, we find awesome stuff with ease (see the posts on here for examples). Today, however, there was a small group of "yoofs" who went around buying up all the PlayStations (the original kind) in order to put them on their own stand and sell them on.
They had managed to amass a load of PS2 games (and a few loose consoles), along with a healthy pile of Xbox games. There was a Dreamcast, apparently some GameCube games and - they said - they had already sold a Mega Drive (for £20?!).
Thankfully, most of the stuff they were buying is not the stuff we buy - it's the stuff we ignore, so the good stuff should be safe. :P We'll see how it goes.
